The current penalty for unwashed gear
is $10.
Here
are some reasons why dive gear should be washed properly by the user:
For those of you who enjoy the use of our
gear at current prices and for those of you who don't like waiting too long for
gear at the dive shed (Because we are busy cleaning equipment!!) then I suggest
all gear be returned washed. This means BCD's (Inside and Out!!), Regs and
Tanks love a rinse too! If there is a problem with the gear TELL US, if the
gear is unwashed TELLUS! Remember, it is YOUR gear! How you
treat it is how it will treat you!!
Instructions for washing of dive gear
1. Tanks
Hose
down entirely in fresh water.
2. Regs
Make sure dust cap is on.
Hose down/immerse in fresh water. Do not purge regs while washing.
Make sure gauges and mouthpieces are free of sand and dust (inside and
out).
3. BC's
External
Hose down/immerse entirely in fresh water.
Make sure BC is free of sand and dust, including the
velcro parts.
Ensure purge dump valves are free of sand and dust on
visual inspection.
Internal
Holding down the manual BC inflator button, empty BC
of salt water.
Holding down the manual BC inflator button, fill BC
with fresh water from hose.
Shake well
Holding down the manual BC inflator button AND the BC
tank fill button, empty BC of all water.
Repeat again
Manually inflate BC slightly so BC doesn't stick when
it's dried.
